Texas, USA (CU)_ A team of academics headed by an Indian American scientist recently identified a significant coronavirus finding that could be a breakthrough in virus treatment. This research was published in the journal Nature Communications. While a treatment for Covid-19 is in process, doctors have so far depended on drugs of other diseases that have been repurposed for the coronavirus patients. Research into how a virus enters the body and defends itself provides insight into how to target its survival processes and the prospect of antivirals targeted particularly at SARS-CoV-2.
