GLOBAL – it looks like everyone is taking up fashion to either stay relevant or to rebrand themselves. There are somethings we never thought we would see in fashion and that was Pokémon x Balmain line.

But hey there is room for everyone in the fashion world and since Pokémon has been a worldwide brand for decades why not try this. Pokémon has been a successful kid’s toy and a popular tv show for decades. But we see an evolution of the Pokémon brand as they venture into bigger things in whilst still staying in their lane.

Now we see that Pokémon is stepping into the world of luxury fashion as it announces its collaboration with Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain. They are starting the line with a “Pokémon x Balmain Trainer Fashion Set.” This has taken inspiration from the fact that Balmain as a fashion house has always had and eye for allure and bold aesthetic

The Japanese franchise that is Pokémon is also known for its bold colorful characters which made it very easy for the design team at Balmain to come up with some creative ways to start the line.

Roustering quoted that “Pokémon’s bright pop aesthetic and captivating creatures have always appealed to me. Today, they make me think of an earlier, simpler time, when we all shared a rosy vision of all the positive changes that we were certain that digital innovations would make possible. And that’s a key reason why I’m so happy to partner with Pokémon on this collection — because, right now, we could all use a reminder of those past moments of hope and optimism.”
