Public granted access to Gros Piton trail!

been done. The purpose of the inquiry was to define the officially recognized public access rights to the Gros Piton trail as it passes through Anse L’Ivorgne. The investigation’s findings showed that there is a legally recognized public vehicular right of way from the main road in Anse L’Ivorgne to the Queen’s Chain and the beach in Anse L’Ivorgne. Moreover, it was discovered that this entrance is oriented through the area of land known as the Mondesir Estate. It culminates at Anse L’Ivorgne Beach and partially parallels the Anse L’Ivorgne River.

There is no registered right of way for vehicles or pedestrians on the Gros Piton Trail, which splits off from this right of way. Due to the kindness of the proprietors of the Mondesir Estate, whose property the route is located on, the public has been able to enjoy this trail. The Soufriere Regional Development Foundation oversees upkeep and management of the Gros Piton Trail.

The Department of Physical Development and Urban Renewal issued the statement to reassure the public that access to the Queen’s Chain and the Anse L’Ivorgne beach will continue to be open to the public without interruption so that locals and visitors can enjoy them without feeling threatened.
