UK (Commonwealth Union) – People have been resourceful in the areas of travel as air travel becomes increasingly expensive. Most people can no longer afford to take a flight for a budget trip as the ticket costs more than the budget. So, what do we humans do? We find an alternative. And what is the alternative? That’s right, travel via rail.
Now rail travel isn’t a new thing that was just founded. Travel via rail has been around long before people were flying everywhere. Nevertheless, the beauty of rail travel is that it does not bleed the bank account to use it. For this reason, we see that rail travel has over taken air travel on the Edinburgh to London route. Most people know it’s for obvious reason but it’s worth a mention here. It’s cheaper to take the train to London than it is to take a flight.
In countries such as the UK the people get to enjoy the luxury of being able to cross borders via train. It is the same with Europe as well where all the countries have the option of travelling to their union countries via train. The tickets are far cheaper. The only thing is it takes a little bit longer but one can assume that this is an inconvenience people are willing to put up with.
Edinburgh to London has always been a busy route for air travel as well. So, it easy to see that people are happy to make the trip a little longer if it meant that they didn’t spend a lot of money going on these trips. Unlike air travel, rail travel is far simpler and seats can be booked a few days prior without heavy fees. Which is another convenience people tend to enjoy.
