Hotels (Commonwealth Union) _ Santani Wellness Resorts, a renowned Sri Lankan retreat brand, is set to make its international debut through a partnership with the Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran Group) to establish two properties in Oman. The resorts, situated in the Jabal Shams in Dakhiliyah and another in Dhofar governorate, will collectively offer 182 keys and prioritize high-level sustainability standards.

Founded in 2016 and inspired by Sri Lankan Ayurveda traditions, Santani aims to provide authentic wellness experiences geared towards enhancing mental, spiritual, and physical wellbeing. With existing retreats in Sri Lanka and ambitious plans for expansion, including in Oman, Santani seeks to foster long-term wellness habits.

The agreement was announced at the ITB Berlin 2024 travel trade show and underscores a shared vision between Omran Group and Santani for health, wellbeing, and environmental stewardship. The partnership is valued at close to US$100 million and reflects a commitment to preserving natural beauty and cultural heritage while delivering unparalleled wellness experiences.

Hashil al Mahrouqi, CEO of Omran Group, expressed confidence in the collaboration’s ability to elevate Oman’s status as a sustainable tourism and wellness destination. By integrating Santani’s wellness philosophy with Oman’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, the partnership aims to set new standards for luxury and sustainability in the region.

The initiative is expected to yield significant economic benefits, including job creation, and is positioned to serve as a model for sustainable development and wellness tourism in Oman. Santani’s forthcoming properties in Oman will blend seamlessly with the natural rugged environment, offering transformative wellness experiences while adhering to rigorous sustainability standards.

Program offerings at the Oman properties will focus on stress management, detoxification, yoga, and weight management, with personalized programming tailored to individual needs to promote holistic wellbeing. The collaboration between Santani Wellness Resorts and Omran Group holds promising prospects for the future of wellness tourism in Oman.
