Nigeria (CWBN) – The chief executive officer (CEO), Mr. Abubakar Suleiman initiated the undertaking to fund Nigerian tourism in a webinar organized by the Nigerian Tourism Cooperation (NTC). Suleiman stated his opinions on the topic ‘Investment for the Tourism sector to enhance domestic tourism’ that further elaborated Sterlin Bank’s decision to fund N 10 Billion to uplift country’s tourism if competent stakeholders are available in the sector. He further invited stakeholders to unite hand in hand rather than becoming competitors by realizing the necessity.
Suleiman encouraged participants in Domestic Tourism to enhance the field with collective commitments, as it is a lucrative entity. Further Suleiman’s suggestions to implement immediate discussions with stakeholders to ban the approach to the authorities as individual entities than a team that is more influential for policy initiatives had taken into consideration.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, declared the need to uplift Tourism assets and Social imprints as it utilizes Nigeria’s largest work force.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Isu Gekpe, the secretary in the Ministry of Information and Culture, elaborated the way Covid 19 pandemic resulted in the debacle of country’s tourism by making it as the most vulnerable industry. She stated the necessity to promote tourism in local and international platforms as the initial step to overcome the issue until legal initiatives came into being.
Moreover, Mr.Foloransho Coker, the director General of NTDC elaborated his hope to boost the industry through packages, affordability of airlines and quick access to tourist destinations.
