-

India (Commonwealth) _ Tata Motors was awarded the first PLI-AUTO accreditation in the M3 Category by ARAI for their 12m long Fully Built Bus, TATA STARBUS 4/12 EV, which is available in both AC and non-AC models. This certification confirms the car model’s conformity.

A passenger transport vehicle in Category M3 has a maximum Gross Vehicle Weight that surpasses 5 tons.’

A few months ago, the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) awarded Tata Motors the first Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) certificate in the N1 category for four-wheeled freight vehicles. ARAI acknowledged this significant accomplishment and commended Tata Motors for complying to MHI’s Automotive PLI scheme’s required standard operating procedures (SOP).

The PLI plan intends to strengthen efforts to localize manufacturing and increase exports in the automobile sector. Tata Motors, having already obtained a domestic value certificate, takes an important step toward eligibility for the huge Rs 25,938 crore PLI program with this certification.

The Central Government’s recent one-year extension of the PLI program for the automotive sector, announced on August 30, implies that the initial five-year scheme, intended to run from 2022-23 to 2026-27, will now continue until 2027-28.

Incentives under the plan apply to particular sales of Advanced Automotive Technology (AAT) products made in India from April 1, 2022. Vehicles and associated components are included in this category. As evidenced by these distinguished ARAI PLI certifications, Tata Motors, a pioneer in the Indian automotive sector, continues to set the benchmark for innovation and devotion to industry standards.

Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, displayed India’s first LNG-powered tipper, the Tata Prima 3528.K, at EXCON 2023, along with an innovative and comprehensive range of future-ready mobility solutions.

Tata Motors showed trucks and tippers driven by cleaner and sustainable energy sources, LNG and battery electric, together with a wide selection of aggregates including CEV Stage V engines and CPCB 4+ certified gensets, embracing the theme of ‘Moving India Forward’.

EXCON is South Asia’s largest construction equipment expo, holding in Bangalore from the 12th to the 16th of December. At the ceremony, Tata Motors commercially introduced the Tata Prima 5528.S LNG and Tata Prima 3528.K LNG trucks.

Tata Motors also displayed the Tata Prima E.28K, a prototype electric vehicle for the construction industry. The introduction of LNG trucks and the demonstration of electric vehicles are precisely in line with Tata’s aim of achieving net zero GHG emissions by 2045.

Tata also unveiled a new series of high-performance tipper trucks, the Tata Prima 2830.TK VX and Tata Signa 3530.TK VX. These top-of-the-line trucks are intended for a broader variety of construction-related applications. The portfolio is designed to improve performance, safety, and comfort for operators by including innovative technologies including automated traction control, a pneumatically suspended driver seat, and cruise control.

Meanwhile, Tata Motors announced a rise in commercial vehicle costs beginning January 1, 2024. In India, the full range of Tata commercial vehicles would witness a price increase of up to 3%. Among the popular commercial vehicles impacted are the Tata Ace Gold, Tata Intra, Tata Yodha Pickup, Tata Magic, and Tata Winger.

According to the corporation, the rise in commercial vehicle rates is being done to mitigate the residual impact of previous input expenses. The business had already announced that costs for Tata electric vehicles will rise. In January, we are contemplating raising the prices of both passenger and electric vehicles. According to a Tata Motors representative, the magnitude of the raise and further information would be published in the coming weeks.

Tata Motors isn’t the only automaker to boost the price of commercial vehicles. Mahindra & Mahindra also stated earlier this month that it would raise the cost of its commercial cars beginning in January 2024.
