Hotels (Commonwealth Union) _ In 2024, the hospitality landscape is set to welcome an array of innovative and enticing properties across the UK, promising a diverse range of staycation experiences. From art-inspired city hotels to nature-immersed retreats, these openings cater to various preferences, ensuring an exciting year for travelers.

London takes center stage with high-end additions from renowned brands like Mandarin Oriental and Maybourne Hotel Group, complementing the existing offerings like The Peninsula London and Raffles London at the OWO.

Manchester witnesses a growth spurt in its accommodation scene with the introduction of budget-luxe Mollie’s and eco-conscious Treehouse Hotels. Meanwhile, Edinburgh anticipates the unveiling of 100 Princes Street and The Hoxton, promising distinct stays for modern adventurers.

For those seeking immersion in nature, new beach escapes include a sibling property to The Gallivant in Littlestone-on-Sea and GuestHouse Hotels on Brighton’s seafront. The historic Boswells department store in Oxford undergoes a transformation into The Store, offering a blend of art deco aesthetics, co-working spaces, and a rooftop bar.

In the heart of Dublin, The Leinster emerges as a swish 55-room property with botanical-themed rooms, a rooftop dining concept by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and a notable art collection. The Emory in London, a creation by Maybourne Hotel Group, stands out as a discreet luxury haven with suites designed by different interiors experts.

Adding a touch of LA funkiness to London, Hyde London City repurposes a Grade II-listed Victorian building near St Paul’s Cathedral, offering 111 rooms, a sultry subterranean cocktail bar, and contemporary Turkish cuisine at Leydi restaurant.

Further afield, Avington Lakes in Hampshire transforms a historic fishery into a retreat with cottages, waterside shepherd’s huts, and wood-fired hot tubs. Escapade Silverstone in Northamptonshire caters to motoring enthusiasts with split-level residences featuring slipstream-inspired architecture.

In the south, The Gallivant expands its presence with a sister property on Littlestone Beach, while GuestHouse brings its boutique-stays-in-historic-buildings concept to Brighton. Teffont House in Wiltshire, part of the Beckford Group, debuts with 16 rooms, a produce-filled walled garden, and a mini Bramley spa.

As winter approaches, The Newman in London, managed by Kinsfolk & Co, promises a grown-up stay rooted in thoughtful excellence with 81 rooms, a European brasserie, cocktail bar, and spa. Closing the year, The Pig on the Farm near Stratford-upon-Avon offers a contemporary countryside getaway with 35 rooms, a barn restaurant, and seaweed-infused spa treatments.

Additional openings in 2024 include House of Gods in Glasgow, Treehouse Hotel Manchester, Bailiffgate Hotel in Alnwick, Grand Hotel Bellevue in London, art’otel London Hoxton, and the much-anticipated Six Senses London in the transformed Whiteleys department store. Autumn sees The Hoxton bringing its cool vibe to Edinburgh, featuring 211 rooms, Hox Homes for extended stays, a restaurant, and an art gallery in Haymarket.
