These vans are crucial for transporting fresh bread to approximately 18,500 locations across the country on a daily basis. The collaboration between Warburtons and Tiger Trailers began in the winter of 2022 when Warburtons sought vehicles tailored to their specific operational needs. With the anticipation of these vans becoming integral parts of a bustling retail delivery fleet, Warburtons emphasized the necessity for a custom, intelligent, and ergonomic design, prioritizing durability and usability.
Throughout the design and production phases, Warburtons maintained a highly active role, regularly visiting Tiger’s manufacturing facility and actively participating in 3D-model review sessions. Their engagement with Tiger Trailers revealed a profound admiration for the company’s meticulous attention to detail, steadfast dedication to maintaining consistent build quality, and the firm assurance of punctual delivery from their cutting-edge facility. Built on 14-tonne DAF chassis sourced from local firm Lancashire DAF, each rigid box van is equipped with Warburtons-specific racking along the sides, complemented by adjustable center aisle load bars to accommodate diverse loading requirements. Moreover, crew doors on each side of the body’s rear facilitate efficient loading, with access covered by a hinged alloy floor section to optimize load capacity. The inclusion of a Dhollandia tail lift assists drivers with handling large loads, while the two Labcraft B3 Banksman reversing lights enhance visibility in low-light conditions. These vans are adorned in Warburtons’ trademark orange, painted in-house at Tiger Trailers.
