Toronto hospitals welcome the year’s first infants

Toronto, Canada (CU)_ At precisely 12 am, the city’s first child of 2022 was born in a Toronto hospital. According to Humber River Hospital, parents Sreyphea and Sambaph were blessed with their newborn son Maverick at exactly 12:00 am on Saturday. The hospital added, “The two are thrilled to begin 2022 with their little bundle of joy”.

Markham Stouffville Hospital delivered its first child of 2022 just one second after the clock struck midnight. The hospital took to Twitter to announce the happy news and shared a lovely picture of baby Ryder James Ang and his delighted parents.

Baby Nathan, weighing eight pounds and four ounces, was born at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga nine minutes after 2022. On welcoming the baby, Trillium Health Partners made a statement saying, “We are happy to report that the baby and mom are healthy and well”. The happy parents of Nathan, Anjali and Geril, said, “both of us feel fantastic with a great start to our New Year!”

North York General Hospital welcomed its first baby of the new year at 12:26 am on Saturday morning, and the hospital took to Twitter to post the photo of baby Ahmad and his excited parents, and wished the happy family. At 1:36 am, Mount Sinai Hospital announced the birth of its first infant of 2022.

At 3:31 am on January 1, the Cortelluci Vaughan Hospital delivered its first baby of the new year. The hospital commenced its operations as a COVID-19-only facility in February 2021, and four months after, it expanded to a full-service facility. According to a press statement, parents Sabira Adel and Ahmed Elbeltagy welcomed their third child Amina, weighing eight pounds and 11.7 ounces.
