As the days come close to Trump leaving office he has learned that the few parts of the presidency post he held that he enjoyed is now being replaced with cold, hard legal warnings, forced televised media addressed and a staff that’s abandoning his ship in the blink of an eye. No longer can the crowds be heard cheering him or the flashes of the camera waiting to get a glimpse instead trump sees himself as a Vitim of a rigged election and is behaving like a child without candy instead of a gracious leader leaving with dignity and respect.
There has been casual talks and discussions amongst the trump staff and aides about the possibility of resignation and the discussions were shut down by trump within a second of hearing it claiming that conversations of that nature was banned. It was stated by trump that he knew Mike pence would not pardon him the way Gerard Ford did Nixon and there by Nixon’s resignation is not be mentioned as long as trump were to be in office.
Always wanting to live the life of pomp and glory trump has asked for a massive send off on inauguration day, but sadly he is reminded of his last day every minute with the workers putting up “2021 Biden – Harris Inauguration” signs near the white house and can be seen from trumps 3 story residency. Trump isn’t taking this loss very well as he is not interested in doing any type of message of farewell to the nation or saying good bye and thank you to the guardsman and operators and having Pence do it instead. Trump has realized what kind of legal and financial nightmares wait for him on the other side once he isn’t the President anymore and that may have put fear in his heart for himself and his family.
With not a lot of time left there have been moving vans at the white house so the reaming staff can pack up their offices and say good bye to each other before the next president and his staff moves in. they are also trying to gather a crowd to see trump depart although some have asked him to attend the swearing in of Biden it is highly unlikely Trump will do so. Trump stated that he will not be happy leaving as an ex-president and flying on an aircraft that is not air force one.
It is still undecided by trump if he will continue tradition and leave a letter on the desk of the oval office for Biden as Obama had left for him. Although he planned on leaving a day before the inauguration he has thought against it and is now leaving on the day of the inauguration itself. With Trump refusing to make any contact with the incoming president and first lady the Biden’s will be staying at Blaire House instead of Trumps. Trumps final plans as he seems fit should include some sort of military send of and crowd of supporters but it isn’t sure where this should happen as he wants to be in one of his country clubs by noon on the day of the inauguration when his term is finally over.
There are some logistical challenges with the outgoing president being 1000 miles away from the incoming one, for example the handoff of the nuclear football which is a 45 pound brief case that goes where the president goes at all times in case of a nuclear attack. There is more than one nuclear football and one will go with trump to Florida while the other stays with Biden in Washington but the codes or what is known as “biscuit” will no longer be activated from trump after Noon on the 20th.
Even though trump is still convinced that he really did win the election in 2020 he is still leaving the white house and entering life as a normal citizen and with that comes potential legal and business trouble as he played a part in the riots last week. The first thing he will have to face is his second impeachment trial, Trump has been trying to rally a legal team to represent him and take care of the proceedings as he has let go of his long time lawyer and is looking for a new one.
Trump has a lot on his mind these days like legal troubles and the impeachment trial, and yet he is lashing out at anyone trying to help him to get out of the mess that he himself has created. His legal team is trying to make him understand that self-pardon may not work and that he should not try to do that.
These above concerns also helped in convincing trump to make a statement condemning the attack of Capitol Hill and that they did not reflect on his political movement, “No true supporter of mine could ever endorse political violence. No true supporter of mine could ever disrespect law enforcement or our great American flag,” he said from behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office.
Trump was not happy about doing the video as he though it made him look like he was being pressured into letting his supporters down and accepting defeat. Trump is taking blow by blow to his personal bottom line as well as his ego as his businesses are also suffering. Trump has decided not to come out and he is not allowing any kinds of documentation while he stays indoors as he waits to exit the oval office.
