(CU)_As the countries across the globe prepare for COP26, scheduled to be held in Glasgow in November, one of the major sticking points for the crucial climate talks is the failure of the developed nations to make good on their promise on mobilising billions of dollars in climate finance for developing countries. The pledge, originally made in 2009, was to provide $100bn a year for poorer, vulnerable countries to assist them in slashing carbon emissions and adapting to the rise in global warming.
