Ontario, Canada (CU)_ Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company has established a new broker platform in order to make its tools and resources more available to independent insurance brokers. Wawanesa stated that following the introduction of the new platform, it is striving to guarantee that all brokers who were previously utilizing its old broker portal seamlessly transfer to the new platform.

Based on Wawanesa’s complete implementation of Guidewire InsuranceSuite, which enabled the insurer to offer all of its products online for the first time in Canada, the newly launched portal will allow the brokers to access the systems of Wawanesa to run business, submit claims, make direct bill payments, and view reports and complete dashboards.

Carol Jardine, Wawanesa EVP and president of Canadian P&C operations, described the significant role played by the independent insurance brokers in the business. She said, “Independent insurance brokers are essential members of our community, helping Canadian families, farms and businesses protect their most important assets. That’s why Wawanesa is all-in on brokers and committed to improving the broker experience with Wawanesa.”

According to Jardine, “Wawanesa is investing to better serve brokers,” whereas other brokers invest in order to compete with their peers. She added, “The advice, advocacy and service that insurance brokers offer Canadians is second to none, and Wawanesa is proud to be 100% broker distributed across Canada”. Wawanesa launched a digital education platform for brokers in 2021, providing brokers with access to on-demand training resources. The platform, which is available on both computers and mobile devices, provides a variety of courses that are continually updated
