World leaders are saddened and shocked…!

India (Commonwealth Union)_ World leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, American President Joe Biden, and others, expressed their deep condolences to the families of the victims and the Government of India in response to one of the country’s most devastating train accidents, which claimed the lives of around 300 individuals. The tragic accident, involving three trains, happened in Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday night, leaving over 900 people injured.

Following the fatal accident, US President Joe Biden stated that he is heartbroken by the tragic train crash in India that claimed around 300 lives. He expressed his deep condolences in a statement. He said, “(First Lady Dr) Jill (Biden) and I are heartbroken by the tragic news of the deadly train crash in India. Our prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones and the many who suffered injuries in this terrible incident”. Biden added, “The United States and India share deep bonds rooted in the ties of family and culture that unite our two nations – and people all across America mourn alongside the people of India. As the recovery effort continues, we will hold the people of India in our thoughts”.

Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed his condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a telegram, expressing deep sympathy for the aftermath of the train collision in Odisha. The telegram post on the Kremlin’s website reads, “Please accept our deep condolences over the tragic aftermath of the train collision in Odisha. We share the grief of those who lost their relatives and close ones in this catastrophe, and we hope for a speedy recovery to everyone injured”.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak offered deep support and admiration to the survivors and the individuals engaged in continuous rescue operations. He tweeted his thoughts and prayers for Prime Minister Modi and all those affected by the tragic events in Odisha. He tweeted, “My thoughts and prayers are with @narendramodi and with all affected by the tragic events in Odisha. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of those killed, and my heartfelt support and admiration to the survivors and those working tirelessly to respond”.

Prime Minister Kishida of Japan extended his condolences to Prime Minister Modi after the tragic train accident. In his statement, Kishida expressed deep sadness upon learning about the loss of many lives and injuries in the train accident in Odisha. He said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the loss of many precious lives and the injuries in the train accident in the state of Odisha. On behalf of the Government of Japan and its people, I would like to express our heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives and their bereaved families. I also pray for the speedy recovery of those who were injured”.

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi also conveyed his condolences to Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, expressing deep sorrow for the loss of precious lives in the train accident. He said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the loss of many precious lives in the train accident in the state of Odisha. I pray for the souls of the victims and extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I also sincerely hope that those who were injured will recover swiftly”.

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau expressed his heartbreak upon seeing the images and reports of the train crash in Odisha, India. He sent his deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones and prayed for the injured. He said, “The images and reports of the train crash in Odisha, India, break my heart. I’m sending my deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones, and I’m keeping the injured in my thoughts. At this difficult time, Canadians are standing with the people of India”.

Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda, who was on a visit to India, tweeted his sadness over the loss of hundreds of lives in the train accident in Odisha. He said, “I’m saddened by the loss of dozens of lives in a train accident in Odisha, India, today. I extend deep condolences to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji, Government, and the bereaved families in this hour of grief.”
