World’s fourth richest person Gautam Adani surpasses Bill Gates!

Mumbai, India (CU)_ According to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List, Indian industrialist Gautam Adani has surpassed Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates to become the fourth richest person in the world. The 60-year-old business magnate’s net worth touched $115.5 billion and surpassed Mr. Gates, whose riches are now at $104.6 billion. With a net worth of $90 billion, Mukesh Ambani ranks tenth on the list. Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, is the wealthiest person in the world, with a net worth of $235.8 billion.

The Chairman of the Adani Group is renowned for transforming a small commodities trading company into a conglomerate including ports, mining, and green energy. According to reports, Mr. Adani surpassed Mr. Ambani as Asia’s wealthiest person. It said, “Some of Adani Group’s listed stocks have soared more than 600% in the past two years on bets his push into green energy and infrastructure will pay off as PM Modi looks to revive the $2.9 trillion economy and meet India’s carbon net-zero target by 2070”. The report added, “In barely three years, Adani has gained control of seven airports and almost a quarter of India’s air traffic. His group now owns the country’s largest airport operator, power generator and city gas retailer in the non-state sector”.

According to Mr. Adani, his company had won the bid to privatize an Israeli port in collaboration with Gadot. The largest of Israel’s three main international seaports is the Port of Haifa. In addition to Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea, Adani Data Networks also participated in the current 5G auction. The spectrum auction witnessed competitive bidding for some frequency bands. According to Adani Group, it is on the hunt for spectrum, which would be used to establish a private network to service its range of businesses including airports, power plants, and data centers. Last month, on Mr. Adani’s 60th birthday, his family committed to contribute INR 60,000 crores to a variety of charitable organizations.
