New Delhi, India (CU)_ The largest curated wildlife safari in the world would occupy 10,000 acres in the Aravalli Hills in Haryana’s districts of Gurugram and Nuh, adjacent to Delhi. In addition to halting unlawful building and mining in the region, the state administration together with the Union Environment Ministry are planning to launch an extensive initiative to recover and replenish the ecology of the mountain range.

According to sources, the project, spanning over a dozen towns, has a tremendous potential to create job opportunities. Sharjah is home to the largest safari project covering 2,000 acres. According to sources, Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar held a meeting in Delhi to discuss the process of the project.

According to Khattar, the government has picked the right place and land for the park. Khattar said, “Top companies will be invited to design the safari, helping Haryana in becoming a tourism hub”. MD Sinha, Haryana’s senior secretary for tourism, compared the curated safari to a combination of a wildlife park and a zoo. According to sources, the local landscape will not be modified, and only native trees will be planted. For horticulture, only treated wastewater will be employed.

Sinha detailed the resources of the park. He said, “It has a captive population of animals that dwell in that area only. The Sharjah safari has 120 spices and was inaugurated in February this year. This Aravalli project will be much larger and in tune with the natural ecosystem”. He added, “We have called for expression of interest from international firms. We’ll shortlist top design companies. Already, 25 global companies have shown their interest in the project. Since the project is in the design stage, an international design competition will be organized soon’’.
