London, UK (CWBN)_ In a statement announced yesterday (24th Dec), PM Boris Johnson announced that the UK has concluded an “excellent deal” with the European Union, delivering the mandate of sovereignty demanded by the Brexit referendum.
Johnson added that the deal will not require the UK to submit to the European Court of Justice, but would streamline bilateral cooperation in law enforcement and in addressing security concerns.
Moreover, the EU has for the first time a zero tariff, zero quotas deal. Hence the cost of goods and services from and to the EU will not be affected by a price hike. Travellers and airlines and hauliers are also expected to benefit from the “certainty” and “ease” provided by the deal, alongside access to British social security within the EU.
The statement also claimed that new subsidy system will be introduced in the UK without reflecting the regulations maintained by the EU, and would not affect the integrity of the internal market.
However, Johnson maintained that all business should prepare for “substantial change” following UK’s separation from the European Single Market and Customs Union.
“2021 will be our opportunity to show what Global Britain means to the rest of the world” he said.
Nonetheless, in order for the deal to be implemented the Westminster would be required to ratify what is referred to as the Future Relationship Bill. It was noted that parliament would be recalled before the end of the year.
