When speaking about the industries one of the fastest changing industries is the fashion industry. Inspirations are drawn by designers from all over the place and beautiful creations come out of it.
There are many people who enter the industry with the hope of making a change and most often than not they do. There is always a fresh flow of creativity that comes from the fashion industry and for that we are grateful.
Today we are introducing Kamil Hewawithrana. Kamil entered the fashion industry a while back and has been putting out some beautiful clothes since he began. He has his own Brand Called LIMAK by Kamil.
Kamil has showcased in Colombo Fashion Week a few times and has always been a creative genius with his designs.
Kamil started his career as a model and then he stepped into being a designer, a very successful one at that. He comes from a big family and it was watching his mother stitch beautiful gowns for his sister that inspired him to turn to fashion. He has made a claim that he got his talent for stitching from his mother.
When one sees the beautiful clothes that Kamil produces one must think where he gets his inspiration from. Kamil does not limit himself to what inspires him. As he loves nature, uses it for most of his designs. Kamil says he tries to find inspiration for his clothes where ever he goes.
It isn’t easy being in an industry where there is constant competition and sometimes you need someone to look up to so that they can provide you with a little guidance on your path. When it comes to this aspect kamil maintains that there are several senior designers and personalities that he admires in the industry and they have always been there to guide him and provide him with solutions when the need does arise.
The industry inspires big dreams and these dreams come true with a little elbow grease. Kamil is ready to work towards his big dream which is to have his collection showcased in an international fashion week.
Finally Kamil is hoping that the designers in Sri Lanka with the support of the government will be able to showcase their talents abroad on international soils, take part on international runways so the world can see how much talent this tiny island holds.
