UK Royals (Commonwealth Union)_King Charles III, 75, was admitted to The London Clinic on Friday after officials took the unusual step of disclosing that he had an enlarged prostate although the condition was benign.

Queen Camilla visited her husband King Charles III in hospital Sunday, his third day at a central London clinic where he has undergone corrective prostate surgery.  Queen Camilla visited Charles several times over the weekend after he was admitted last week, and three times on Sunday.  News that he will stay another night has sparked new concerns for his health. Queen Camilla smiled as she arrived at The London Clinic in central London by car at midday on Sunday, leaving again just over three hours later and returned between 6pm and 7pm, smiling as she left.

Princess Kate is in hospital for surgery

A small crowd of well-wishers gathered on the pavement as Queen Camilla left the hospital in a black Audi at around 3:10 pm (1510 GMT).

The king’s daughter-in-law, Princess Catherine is also currently at the clinic following abdominal surgery.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42 is on her 13th day of an expected two-week stay.

King Charles’s announcement has prompted a surge in internet searches for the term “enlarged prostate” on the state-run National Health Service (NHS) website.

The charity Prostate Cancer UK said it had seen a more than 100% increase in people using its online risk checker on Thursday compared with Wednesday.

Consultant urological surgeon Ian Eardley stated “The nature of these things is if it becomes public knowledge it will lead to more men seeking help. That is a good thing.”

A Buckingham Palace spokesman previously said the King was admitted to a London hospital for scheduled treatment and added that : “His Majesty would like to thank all those who have sent their good wishes over the past week and is delighted to learn that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness.”

One source told The Sun it was understood that King Charles would only stay in hospital for longer than two nights if there was some kind of unexpected issue. The extra stay is entirely precautionary but has nevertheless reportedly caused some unease.

The King was diagnosed on 17th January with the benign condition while staying at Birkhall, Aberdeenshire, after going for a check-up because he was experiencing symptoms. He has already cancelled engagements for the next month to allow his recovery after the op. Earlier this month Buckingham Palace confirmed he was to undergo the “corrective procedure” on what was a benign condition, however it has not provided any indication of how long he would remain in hospital or long recovery would take.
