Allianz commits to insurance development in Nigeria

Abuja, Nigeria (CU)_ Adeolu Adewunmi-Zer, managing director of Allianz Nigeria, has reiterated her firm’s commitment to foster insurance growth in Nigeria. In order to provide a prosperous and a sustainable future for the people, the insurance company stated that it would do so through the introduction of new products, the application of professional knowledge, and the provision of exceptional service using cutting-edge technology.

Adewumi-Zer announced the news as she addressed the insurance journalists in Lagos. She stated that Allianz Nigeria was strongly positioned for profitability and development, and that the firm is here to expand the boundaries of insurance in Nigeria and Africa in general. According to her, with its decades of experience in the industry and strong technical skills in insurance, Allianz very well has what it needs to make an impact in Nigeria and Africa. She expressed confidence saying, “We have the expertise, we have the experience, we have the technology and we have the right quality and quantity of manpower to make a difference”. She stated that as mandated by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), the business has been completely recapitalized to the tune of N18 billion.

According to the chief of Allianz, the firm was a forward looking business and that its strategic goal was to protect the client’s future. She explained the company’s goals. She said, “We are here to stay to drive insurance growth in Nigeria and in extension, Africa. Our strategic objective is to secure the future of our customers, the future of our employees, the future of our stakeholders and the future of the people in our communities. There are a lot of opportunities in Africa and the future of the insurance business is here in Africa. One thing that I want you to know is that the future is Africa. So if the future is Africa, the future is Nigeria. So you cannot have a strategy for Africa, if you do not take Nigeria seriously.”

The chief stated that one of the objectives of the company was to make it a favorable insurance company in Nigeria, Africa, and internationally, in accordance with their recent joint venture partnership with Sanlam. She stated, “Because we know how important it is to have a partner with stamina at your side who prepares you with solid and sustainable solutions, we strive to do it right with passion and persistence. Allianz and Sanlam have agreed to combine their current and future operations across Africa to create the largest Pan-African non-banking financial services entity on the continent”.
