Fashion icon Andre Leon Talley to be honored in Greenburgh

-

GLOBAL – Andrea Leon Talley has been legend and will continue to be a legend in the game that we all call fashion.

Born in October 16, 1948 Andrea was a fashion journalist to start his career in. when people say he wrote about everything in fashion he truly truly did. The man never missed a mark and for that we are sure the fashion world will truly forever be grateful.

He was the first ever African American man at Vogue magazine to be the fashion new director its first African-American male creative director from 1988 to 1995, and then its editor-at-large from 1998 to 2013.

He was wildly known for being the biggest support to up-and-coming young fashion designers and almost always gave them the needed support and platforms to shine. The man knew how to rock capes, kaftans and robes which then went on to become his signature style.

Tally was also known for his role as a judge on the famous show Americas next top model where he sat on the panel from seasons 14 to 17. He is the known author of 3 book, where one of them even landed on the New York Times best seller list.

Talley was also a part of conspiracy as he was the editor at large of Numero Russia but he had resigned when the anti LGBT laws were established in Russia. Which was a shame as he was doing a marvelous job at the publication.

The fashion world truly felt his loss when he passed January 18, 2022. It only seems fitting the man be honoured for doing the only thing he loved.

The town of Greenburgh will be honouring him by putting up a commemorative street sing by naming it after him.
