France will provide Indian… visa

-

Diaspora (Commonwealth Union) _ French President Macron has revealed an ambitious target for France: to host a substantial number of Indian students, reaching 30,000, by the year 2030. This objective, recently announced during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Paris, signifies France’s dedication to academic excellence, cultural enrichment, and enduring friendship between the two countries.

To facilitate this initiative, France is introducing a significant policy change – a five-year Schengen circulation visa for Indian alumni. This innovative approach aims to strengthen the bond between Indian students and the French education system, enabling them to maintain close connections with France and their French counterparts.

The French embassy emphasized that even a short duration of study in France can create a meaningful and lasting connection, which is why Indian students holding a Master’s degree or higher and having spent at least a semester studying in France are eligible for this special visa provision.

This endeavor is not just about providing academic opportunities; it’s about nurturing cultural understanding and fostering cross-national friendships. French Ambassador Emmanuel Lenain underscored France’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity, expressing his assurance that Indian students will have an enriching academic and life experience in France.

To further support this initiative, the French government and Campus France will organize the ‘Choose France Tour 2023’, an educational fair to be held in major Indian cities. This fair will provide a platform for Indian students and parents to interact with representatives from over 40 French higher education institutions, enabling them to explore a diverse range of study options and potential career paths.

The benefits of studying in France extend beyond education. With a significant presence of French companies in India, graduates with French qualifications open doors to a wide array of career opportunities, including prestigious roles within globally renowned organizations. In summary, France’s aspiration to welcome 30,000 Indian students by 2030 represents a holistic approach to education, culture, and diplomacy. This initiative not only contributes to academic growth but also cements the foundation for enduring and mutually beneficial relationships between the two nations.
