On Thursday, 30 April ’26, the British prime minister made a statement from Downing Street about the Golders Green attack.
On Wednesday, 29 April, Britain’s Jewish community suffered yet another vile terrorist attack. 2 Jewish men were stabbed in broad daylight on the streets of Golders Green just because they were Jews. The PM added that he had just returned from Golders Green, where he had expressed sadness & solidarity with the aggrieved community. He had also expressed his determination to act because the truth was that this attack wasn’t a one-off.

There had been a series of previous attacks. That includes the arson attack in Hendon. There was also an attack on the Jewish Ambulance Service Hatzola. There was also a fireball at Kenton United Synagogue, which he had visited the week before. On top of all this, Heaton Park in Manchester, last October ’25, where 2 Jewish men were killed in a vile Islamist attack on their synagogue. So, people are scared to show themselves, even within their own communities. They are afraid to attend the synagogue and practice their faith. Jews are afraid to attend university. They even fear sending their children to school as Jews. It may even be difficult for them to share with their colleagues that they are Jewish or to use the NHS. He opined that no one should live like that in Britain, but Jews do.
So on Wednesday, 29 April, this anxiety that is always there went to another place. This time, it was to terrorise frankly. That is the right word. He added that he wished to thank the Jewish Security Services, who wrestled with this issue every day. Also, for cooperating with the police, which prevented a much greater tragedy on 29 April.
The PM added that he had met some of the first responders on Thursday, 30 April. On behalf of the country, he had thanked them for their bravery.
