Commonwealth_ St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) has opened the 2024-2025 cruise season on a high note, welcoming over 10,000 cruise passengers in just the first week. The season began with the arrival of Mein Schiff 2, which brought nearly 3,000 passengers to the main port in Kingstown. Later in the week, the Britannia added to the momentum, delivering over 4,000 additional visitors. The influx of travelers extended beyond the primary hub of Kingstown, with cruise activity reaching various Grenadine islands, including Bequia, Mayreau, Chatham Bay on Union Island, and the picturesque Tobago Cays.
Tourism Minister Carlos James expressed pride in the nation’s growth trajectory, noting that this marks the third consecutive year of increased cruise arrivals. “This milestone signifies our third consecutive year of growth in cruise arrivals, a testament to the increasing allure of St. Vincent and the Grenadines as a premier Caribbean destination,” Minister James said. “We are delighted to see a record number of visitors discovering the diverse experiences offered by each island, from the rich cultural heritage in Kingstown to the pristine marine beauty in the Tobago Cays.”
