It’s 2047, not 2024: PM Modi at the Union Council of Ministers’ meeting!

India (Commonwealth Union)_ Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon his Council of Ministers to extend their focus beyond 2024 and work towards improving India’s growth in various sectors by 2047, the year marking the centenary of the country’s independence. The Prime Minister presided over a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers held at the Pragati Maidan convention center.

According to reports, PM Modi referred to the period until 2047 as the “Amrit Kaal” or golden era for India. He emphasized that significant transformations would occur in India within the next 25 years, including the emergence of a highly educated workforce and the widespread adoption of breakthrough technologies across different sectors.

Representatives from different ministries, including foreign affairs, defense, and railways, presented their views during the meeting. Each ministry outlined its roadmap for India’s development over the next 25 years. After the meeting, PM Modi took to Twitter and posted a picture featuring the attending ministers at the meeting and captioned it as follows: “A fruitful meeting with the Council of Ministers, where we exchanged views on diverse policy-related issues.”

The Prime Minister emphasized that his government has accomplished major developmental goals and work over the past nine years and urged his Council of Ministers to act energetically over the next nine months to inform the public about these achievements. He encouraged the ministers to create a calendar highlighting the 12 major accomplishments and initiatives of their respective ministries in order to promote their work effectively.

The meeting was held in the midst of growing speculation about an imminent Cabinet reshuffle, after a series of meetings among the top leadership of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The period leading up to the Monsoon Session of Parliament, commencing on July 20, may provide the last opportunity for a Cabinet reshuffle.
