KENYA AFRICA – there are many ways to deal with absolute rage. The newest for is to find an abandoned building amid destruction and just to smash it down and let out one’s anger. But what happens when you don’t have such outlets and are forced to deal with your feelings of anger alone?

This is exactly what happened to a man in Ibaco Kisii county as he went completely berserk with anger and burned down his family home before trying to kill himself his wife and three children.

The gentleman by the name of Kefa Mobisa was swiftly taken into police custody as his wife called police in absolute fear and panic for her life as well as her children’s lives. The police then discovered that Mr. Mobisa was a successful businessman before it crumbled due to the pandemic.

The loss of his only income turned him into a drug peddler to earn money to feed his family. The peddling then led him to becoming a frequent user of the drugs. The police have determined that it was the usage of the drugs that caused the uncontrolable rage and that he was under the influence during this episode.

The act of killing his family seemed premeditated as the police found out from the neighbors that he had gone to the extent of digging 2 graves one for his child and the other for his wife. The police also found a noose attached to the ceiling in the house which they assumed he would have used to hang himself after he had murdered his family.

His wife made a statement to the police regarding loans they had take as well as the money they had borrowed. She stated that “We took out a Sh150,000 loan in 2019 just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country. We borrowed the money from Mwembe Self-Help Group in Ibacho, we started Blessed Minds Academy, which had a kindergarten and primary school. We built a permanent structure with eight classrooms. We were doing well, until we were unable to repay the loan and the self-help group came for our land.”
