Solape Hammod, the Special adviser on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Investments, stated the government’s expectations to participate a large number as, ‘This year because of the COVID-19 restrictions on large gatherings we have opted for a virtual summit. This is not a limitation but an enabler. This means that this year we can have a lot more people involved. We are looking for active participation from all people who love Lagos. We are looking for at least 100,000 people to participate in this year’s summit and we don’t think that is a tall order.’

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Co-chair of the steering committee, Mr. Sam Egube, explained aims of the summit to reconnect the public sector with the private scheme as a quest to strengthen the existing rapport between each other. He anticipates a greater participation from the private sector as a remedy for a functional Nigeria.

‘We believe that it is not only Lagosian that would develop Lagos, it is a mix of partnerships both locally, nationally and internationally as long as we have interests in Lagos we must come together to create what we want out of Lagos.’

Unveiling the new logo, the Co- Chair of the Ehinbeti 2020, Mr. Olayami Cardoso declared the new logo as an embodiment of expressions of the LESG ideals. The colours if the logo connotes the participation of Ehingbeti for integrating local and international stakeholders to exchange ideas that account for the socio – economic boost of the state.

Moreover, by acknowledging as the first international economic forum of Nigeria, Ehingbeti is a collaborative effort hand in hand with Lagos state government and Business club Ikeja that broaden avenues to gain better insights from innumerable dimensions.
