Menzies Aviation and Wipro launch new Menzies Aviation Cargo Handling system

-

(Commonwealth)_ Menzies Aviation, a key player in airport and airline services, in collaboration with Wipro, a leading technology services and consulting company, has unveiled their latest achievement: the successful debut of the Menzies Aviation Cargo Handling (MACH) cargo management system. With the initial deployment at Bucharest Otopeni Airport (OTP) in Romania marking a prosperous start, the MACH system is slated for implementation at ten air cargo locations initially, with a broader plan to encompass Menzies’ global network by the close of 2024. The partnership between Menzies Aviation and Wipro has effectively combined Menzies’ extensive expertise in air cargo operations with Wipro’s advanced technological capabilities. In just over a year since signing the contract, the collaboration has yielded the groundbreaking MACH, an end-to-end cargo management system, poised to revolutionize Menzies’ operations worldwide. MACH represents a significant leap forward from Menzies’ current cargo management system, offering a contemporary user interface (UI) designed for seamless navigation, ensuring user-friendliness across all stakeholders. Its cloud-based architecture guarantees accessibility from any location, at any time, and through any device, enabling real-time insights and data accessibility.

Functioning as a centralized hub of information, MACH seamlessly integrates with other systems, streamlining and standardizing processes. By automatically populating electronic information across the system, MACH enhances data accuracy. Notably, it’s not only focused on standardization but also equipped to tailor solutions as needed. The system can generate and automate task-specific checklists, while customized employee training pathways ensure warehouse staff receive relevant training for their roles. MACH’s open architecture approach ensures compatibility with Menzies’ and its customers’ existing technology investments, delivering the benefits of MACH while leveraging prior technological assets. The launch of the cutting-edge MACH cargo handling system, coupled with a recent award win in partnership with Dexory for its Robot Mimi, underscores Menzies’ commitment to offering innovative technological solutions to its clientele, aiming for top-tier service delivery.

Beau Paine, Menzies Aviation’s Global Head of Cargo, expressed enthusiasm about introducing MACH to customers in Bucharest, highlighting the team’s achievements in collaboration with Wipro over the past year. Paine anticipates accelerating the implementation of MACH across the broader network in the coming months, emphasizing technology’s role in uniting people. Rory Fidler, Menzies Aviation’s VP of Cargo Technology, commended the partnership with Wipro, acknowledging their instrumental role in realizing Menzies’ vision and creating a groundbreaking product for the industry. Fidler emphasized the team’s incredible progress in transforming a brief document into an innovative platform, attributing this success to hard work and dedication.

Omkar Nisal, Managing Director UK& Ireland at Wipro Limited, expressed pride in the collaboration with Menzies, citing the transformation of Menzies’ cargo business through Wipro’s cutting-edge cargo handling solution. Nisal highlighted the alignment of Wipro’s technological capabilities with Menzies’ aviation expertise, reflecting Wipro’s commitment to empowering clients through technology and innovation. Subha Tatavarti, Chief Technology Officer at Wipro Limited, echoed the vision to revolutionize industries through technology, underscoring the partnership’s goal to transform the cargo handling industry. Tatavarti emphasized the development of a modern, scalable solution that not only caters to Menzies but also paves the way for an industry-shaping aviation platform. Menzies plans to roll out MACH to ten air cargo locations by the end of Q1 2024, encompassing various regions like Macau in China; Wellington, Christchurch, and Auckland in New Zealand; Sangster Intl. and Kingston Jamaica in Jamaica; Ontario, Vancouver, Calgary in the Americas; and Amman in MEAA. The company aims to implement MACH across its global network by the end of 2024.
