India (Commonwealth Union)_ Prime Minister Narendra Modi exercised his electoral right this morning, casting his vote at a school in Ahmedabad amidst the ongoing third phase of voting in the Lok Sabha polls. The Nishan Higher Secondary School, situated in the Ranip locality of the city, served as the designated polling booth for this electoral event. Arriving at the polling station a little past 7:30 am, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by Union Minister Amit Shah, with whom he proceeded towards the booth. A sizable crowd, eager to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister, had gathered along the roadside, cheering enthusiastically and raising slogans in his honor.

En route to the voting booth, Prime Minister Modi graciously granted an autograph to a supporter on a portrait depicting him. Expressing the significance of citizen participation in a democracy, he urged the populace to exercise their voting rights fervently. Post-voting, displaying his inked finger, he reiterated the importance of voting, especially considering the upcoming rounds of the electoral process. He stated, “Today is the third phase of voting. There is great importance of ‘daan’ in our country and in the same spirit, the countrymen should vote as much as possible. Four rounds of voting are still ahead”.

Taking to social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi shared about his voting experience in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and urged all citizens to exercise their voting to bolster the democratic process. He posted, “Voted in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections! Urging everyone to do so as well and strengthen our democracy.” Reflecting on the nation’s election procedures, Prime Minister Modi lauded its management as exemplary, suggesting it as a model for democracies worldwide to study. Emphasizing the need for extensive research, he advocated for global universities to conduct case studies on India’s electoral system, highlighting its unique attributes.

Acknowledging the simultaneous elections across numerous countries, Prime Minister Modi called for a comparative analysis. He emphasized the celebratory nature of this year’s democratic exercises and urged citizens once again to actively participate in the electoral process. Extending his appreciation to the Election Commission, Prime Minister Modi commended their efforts in ensuring a largely peaceful conduct of the initial phases of the elections. Additionally, interacting with the public outside the polling booth, he engaged in signing memorabilia, taking selfies, and interacting warmly with attendees, including children.

Furthermore, in a light-hearted gesture, Prime Minister Modi also embraced a child, showcasing his friendly and down to earth nature amidst the electoral fervor. Additionally, he appreciated the media personnel covering the elections and advised them to prioritize their well-being by staying hydrated. Furthermore, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, contesting from Gandhinagar, a longstanding BJP stronghold, is set to cast his vote later today. As voting progresses across 93 constituencies spanning 10 states and a Union Territory in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the electoral momentum continues unabated.
