MoU signed between IFFCO and IIT Delhi for joint research in agriculture and nanotechnology

According to the statement, “The collaboration emphasizes focused joint research through sharing laboratories of IIT Delhi and IFFCO and providing research consultancy”.

This Memorandum of Understanding will widen the scope of agricultural research and technological development in agriculture. It will also make advanced nanotechnology research for future applications more accessible. In order to discover an innovative solution to the complex agricultural and environmental concerns, IFFCO scientists and engineers will collaborate with academic research experts and scholars at IIT Delhi.

Managing Director of IFFCO, U S Awasthi, spoke about the company’s mission. He said, “At IFFCO, we always look forward to adopting new technologies so that we can add value to the farmer at ground level. IFFCO also believes in creating sustainable innovative solutions to reduce the input cost of agriculture and farming and hence increase the income of farmers”.

Director of  IIT Delhi, V Ramgopal Rao, expressed delight over the partnership. He said, “Impetus to research and innovations will help in achieving the modern agriculture system, which will be beneficial for farmers of the country. IIT Delhi is happy to collaborate with IFFCO and work together on futuristic technologies of mutual interest”.

According to Anurag S Rathore, Dean, Corporate Relations, IIT Delhi, this MOU will open doors for research fields such as Nanotechnology and Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Agriculture Technologies, Environmental Science and Technology, Rural Development, Data Science, and Nano-bio Interface. 

IFFCO had previously launched the First Nano Urea Liquid in the world, through a patented technology created at the IFFCO Nano Biotechnology Research Centre in Kalol. According to the statement, half litre of IFFCO Nano Urea Liquid will replace at least one bag of conventional Urea, thereby lowering farmers’ input expenses.
