Dan Boswell of the Environment Agency says “This is another big step forward for the project and our efforts to restore the Lower Otter Valley to a more natural state. The planting addresses some of the ecological and environmental challenges we have in the area and will play an important role in enhancing local biodiversity and visitor’s experiences.”
He further indicated that its early days, however the Lower Otter Restoration Project is playing its role in having a clear positive impact on the capability of the valley to draw increased amounts of varied birdlife.
Similar project across the world have played a key in restoring a balance in nature as the number of green spaces has been steadily decreasing in last few decades due to rapid industrialization.
