industries switching to a greener energy production with goals to gradually reduce carbon emissions each year. The commonwealth has also actively raised issue of climate change across it member states where Australia together with India, Canada, South Africa, UK and Pakistan are some of the top polluters within the commonwealth.
Electricity, Transportation, manufacturing and construction industries remain some of the biggest polluters. Many critics have argued that a quick switch to greener alternatives is not economically feasible and sustainable in long run hence greater in-depth discussions are required between industry stakeholders and policy makers as the two have often clashed sometime leading to unpopular goals similar to the events occurring in the Netherlands between farmers and the government where the farmers have stated that new policies will put them out of business.
Many of Australia’s industry stakeholders impacted by the new deal have stated that they are in consultation with the government to work towards the new policies. Often any suggestion of the reduction of carbon emission often becomes a divisive partisan issue between political parties across the world hence its vital for non-partisan entities to hold discussion with all side irrespective of political affiliation to come to a compromise and not set policies that do not destroy industries and livelihoods with sustainable models that will benefit both the present and future generations.
