PM Modi lauds Balaji S Srinivasan

USA (Commonwealth Union)_ In response to a post on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended Indian-American entrepreneur and investor Balaji S Srinivasan for his positive outlook on India’s investment climate. PM Modi emphasized India’s commitment to fostering innovation and inviting global investments, echoing Mr Srinivasan’s sentiments on why he chooses to invest in India and its people. He stated, “I love your optimism, and will add—the people of India are trendsetters and trailblazers when it comes to innovation. We welcome the world to invest in our nation. India won’t disappoint”.

Balaji S Srinivasan, a prominent figure in Silicon Valley, formerly held the position of Chief Technology Officer at the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and served as a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz. Recognized for his early investment roles in various technology companies and cryptocurrency protocols, Srinivasan co-founded companies such as Earn.com (acquired by Coinbase), Counsyl (acquired by Myriad), Teleport (acquired by Topia), and Coin Center. Notably, he played a crucial role in Counsyl, a genomics startup that conducted testing for four percent of all US births.

Transitioning away from an executive role in genomics in 2012, Srinivasan, with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, pursued diverse areas of technology. The author of the best-selling book “The Network State” explores the concept of constructing a successor to the nation-state, referred to as the “network state.” 

Srinivasan, considered for the position of leading the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) in the Donald Trump administration in 2017, remains a notable figure in the tech and investment spheres. In 2021, collaborating with Naval Ravikant, he invested in Koo, a microblogging platform positioned as India’s alternative to X (formerly Twitter). Active on X, Srinivasan boasts over 9.62 lakh followers on the platform, showcasing his influence and engagement in the digital realm.
