London, UK (CWBN)_ In a bid to garner support for the Labour Party in Scotland, Sir Kier Starmer is expected to a major speech on Scottish devolution at 11am this morning (21st Dec).

What is claimed to be the “boldest devolution project in a generation” will provide the Scottish people “a positive alternative”.

Recent polls conducted in Scotland has established that a vast majority lean toward the separation of the region from Westminster, owing to the latter’s dealing with Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic in particular.

The Scottish National Party (SNP), which has been at the forefront of the Scottish devolution initiative, have insisted that Starmer would simply commit to “constitutional tinkering” in an attempt to displace the SNP’s dominance in the region.

In addition, it maybe argues that the Starmer’s push into Scotland could be an effort to develop unity among the party, which experienced a rocky few months with Jeremy Corbyn’s suspension over serious allegation of downplaying anti-Semitism within the party.

Nonetheless, BBC reported that Starmer intends to introduce a constitutional commission, under former Prime Minister Gordon Brown to produce a “fresh and tangible offer”.
