AFRICA ( Commonwealth Union) _ Today marks the official opening of THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo, with 25 direct exhibitors from 21 nations expected. The subject for this year, Transformative, Innovation, Global Competitiveness, according to the organizers, sets the tone for discussions about the business climate in Zimbabwe and innovating for global competitiveness.
The program will address a wide range of topics, such as leveraging technology to foster an innovative culture, developing a workforce ready for the future, collaborative innovation as the cornerstone of intra-African trade, and much more. ZITF Company chairman Busisa Moyo stated at a press conference in Bulawayo yesterday that King Mswati III of Eswatini would officially launch the international trade expo on Friday.
The reaction from abroad has been positive as well, with 25 direct exhibits from 21 different countries expected, reflecting both nation participation and individual enterprises. This is an improvement above the 2022 edition, which saw 16 direct exhibitors from 13 different nations, according to Moyo. According to Moyo, 21% of the exhibitors are from Bulawayo, and 65% of the confirmed exhibitors are from Harare.
There are now 14% of representatives from other cities across the nation.
The exhibitor profile is quite diverse, offering a variety of goods and services, such as agricultural implements and equipment, automotive products, building and construction, civic representation, clothing and textiles, education and training, energy products and equipment, food products manufacturing and processing, business tourism products and services, information communication and technology, medical or health-related products, mining equipment, pharmaceuticals, an array of clothing and textiles, and an array of energy products and equipment.
