As of this writing, we have 533 exhibitors and 46 631 sqm of sold exhibit space, converting 97% of the total available exhibit area. This compares favorably to the closing total of square meters occupied from previous year, which was 45 786,” Moyo said. Moyo claimed that in order to meet the growing demand, organizers had to be creative in how they used available space, turning disused spaces into exhibition places.

Tomorrow, ZITF will organize the ZITF International Business Conference in cooperation with the National Economic Consultative Forum. Over 600 participants are anticipated to participate. It’s anticipated that Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga would attend as the honored guest. Unlocking Africa’s Potential: Innovation, Competitiveness, and Sustainable Development will be the focus of the second Connect Africa Symposium.

More than 300 delegates are anticipated to attend the event on Thursday, which will feature a keynote speech by Wamkele Mene, secretary-general of the African Continental Free Trade Area.

Chiwenga will give the symposium its official opening.

Through youth-targeted programs like the ZITF Innovators’ Forum, according to Moyo, ZITF 2023 will also place the youth at the center of the conversation about innovation and global competitiveness. He said that during the pitch and hackathon competitions, ideas from four thematic tracks: agriculture, energy, ICTs, and the informal sector would be highlighted.Crafting Dreams Day, where youth entrepreneurship, money management, personal development and branding, as well as mental health awareness, will be the themes of discussion, will kick off the official proceedings tomorrow.

The second day is a designated STEM Day with a focus on climate change, aviation, and space engineering. Amon Murwira, the minister of higher and tertiary education, will be the honorary guest at the Scholastica Indaba on Thursday. The public will be able to view the displays by local and foreign exhibitors on the final two days of the exhibition, April 27 and 28. Additionally, a fun entertainment program has been planned for the entire family, according to Moyo.
