Global (Commonwealth Union) A federal judge has denied Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s request to have his name removed from Michigan’s presidential ballot. The U.S. District Court judge determined that Kennedy is unlikely to succeed in federal court after his previous loss in the Michigan Supreme Court.
After endorsing the Republican nominee, Kennedy stated that he wanted to keep his name on the ballot as an option in both Red and Blue states so that the outcome would not impact the election results. However, he had requested voters in swing states who supported him to vote for Trump and was engaged in a battle to take his name off the ballot not to confuse voters and take away support from Donald Trump. He was met with success in some states but losses in others.
In a deeply polarised election, Kennedy had been seen as a uniting factor across bipartisan lines and had indicated that while endorsing Trump, he did not agree with him on every issue but did so on matters that were important, and a key factor was children’s health.
RFK stated that the three major reasons compelled him to enter this race from the beginning and gave the key factors that led him to leave the Democratic Party, run as an independent, and then back President Trump. These factors included the fight for free speech, the conflict in Ukraine, and the assault on our children.
He further stated that he already shared some of his personal encounters with the government’s censorship-industrial complex.
The health issues in particular have had many health activists and government officials across the world concerned with increasing rates of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease, among many other diseases. A common trend witnessed in many countries is how victims have become younger and younger, where heart attacks have been seen in younger victims at a much higher rate than in recent times.
Kennedy highlighted the health crisis among US children and vowed to make it a priority. He also indicated that high levels of corruption existed between regulatory authorities and big corporations and stressed the need to dismantle these systems. While serving as a lawyer, he successfully won cases against major corporations over health violations.
