Nigeria (Commonwealth Union) _ Employees of Unilever Nigeria collaborated with Wecyclers and the Food & Beverage Recycling Alliance to mark World Clean-Up Day 2023 as part of the company’s mission to promote sustainable living.

According to a statement, the exercise was recently held in the Surulere, Lagos, campus of the Obele Nursery and Primary School. The company said in a statement that the workers cleaned the trash cans and gave them to the school as a way to inspire the students to adopt excellent hygiene habits and maintain a clean environment through proper waste disposal.

“The World Clean-Up Day is a global initiative that brings people from all walks of life together to clean up their communities,” said Godfrey Adejumoh, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainable Business at Unilever Nigeria, in response to a question about the program.

By volunteering to clean up the school’s grounds, Unilever Nigeria employees and partners helped the students and staff at Obele Nursery and Primary School have a memorable day in keeping with the 2023 theme of Embody Unity.
