The AARS in its mission to exchange knowledge and information on the vast scope of Remote Sensing and other fields of interest including photogrammetry and spatial sciences, has gathered countries in the Asia-Pacific region to engage in meaningful conversations, mutual cooperation, international understanding, and goodwill amongst member states.

The AARS has over 29 member countries and is one of the largest organizations dedicated to the scope of Remote Sensing.

Sri Lanka, recognizing the importance of applying Remote Sensing technologies in national development affairs, is an opening member of the AARS, with a delegation of general members, related members, and sustainable members.

The 2023 Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS 2023) will be hosted by the Chinese(Taipei) Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, National Central University, and the AARS in Taipei from October 30th to November 3rd, 2023.
