Texas, USA (CU)_ As India confronts a deadly second wave of the pandemic, a team of Indian-American doctors and professionals from the diaspora in the US and India have created a first ever digital map that gives complete information about the availability of hospital beds in India with instant updates. This initiative aims at delivering important and time-sensitive information to frightened COVID-19 patients.
According to Dr Rajesh Anumolu, key architect of ‘MadadMaps,’ ‘MadadMaps.com’ by Project Madad (help) is the first nation-wide digital map in India specially designed to provide real-time updates on hospital bed availability. He said that the platform employs a unique algorithm to gather data from all leading online aggregators of hospital bed availability for government as well as private hospitals in all Indian cities and states. According to him, the algorithm reviews and filters information from concerned sites, prioritizes official material, and removes all stuff that remained un-updated for a long time.
Project Madad is a one-of-a-kind effort spearheaded by a volunteer team of 15 Indian and Indian diaspora doctors, who are COVID-19 specialists, and 12 professionals with the goal that appropriate education and training to domestic healthcare professionals and Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) is crucial for preventing COVID-19 infection in rural India.
