More fraud victims are ‘feeling abandoned’

LONDON (CU)_During the year ending March 2021, a total of 4.6 million fraud offences had occurred in the United Kingdom, according to the Office for National Statistics. Previously, the executive office had estimated that people are losing £700,000 to bank transfer scams each day, which amounts to £491 a minute. Against such a background, victims of such offences say they are “feeling abandoned”, as the country’s biggest banks are failing to properly assist them at a time of crisis.
