A relaxing intimate beach experience!

A beautiful sunny day was the perfect setting for our long-awaited trip down south.
It was a pleasant surprise to drive into the Aura Beach Villa set amidst coconut palms and the blue sea as a perfect backdrop… our home for the next four days.
The Villa a beautiful, old private colonial house, completely refurbished and modernized, is owned by an internationally recognized European personality with his charming and equally famous artist wife.

It is just 10 minutes away from the ancient World Heritage City of Galle.
We were warmly welcomed by the smart young well-dressed Manager who promptly helped us with our baggage and quickly filled up our registration form. The welcome drink that was served was in a chilled goblet garnished in a tropical style. The villa has a superb view of the garden, pool, and sea.
Shown to our three air-conditioned rooms, just enough for all eight of us. The ensuite modern bathrooms were well-designed and had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable.
After resting a bit, the boys decided to take a swim in the beautiful pool set in the well-manicured garden, shaded with coconut trees, while the girls took to the newly installed open-air Jacuzzi.

The setting sun with its golden hue and the sky turning into pink and orange beckoned us to a refreshing round of drinks which we brought with no corkage.
The crackling fire from the barbecue spit had the aroma of a selection of well-marinated meat that we as the kitchen available for us to prepare our own dinner. It was divine to tuck into dinner in the garden open to the sky and the stars.

We awoke early morning and took a stroll on the beach with its soft golden sand and the warm waters of the sea tickling our feet. The wide beach is safe for kids too as there are hardly any waves that break ashore in season time. Having done a good walk we were ravenous for breakfast.

A choice of Sri Lankan and Continental breakfasts was available for us to choose from. If you fancy breakfast in bed, that too would be a pleasure and no mean task.
After breakfast, a few of us went to the garden and chose a quiet spot under the shady coconut trees for a good read. A few others went to the newly opened air-conditioned games room and tried their hand at the 8ft billiard table, carrom board, and darts and had a good game.

Getting ready for lunch, the fully equipped kitchen was all ours to cook up our meal. We decided to have lunch in the stunning dining area overlooking the pool and beach and discussed what we would do the next day.
The villa is situated within close proximity to various places of interest. It is only 15 minutes from the famous coral diving town of Hikkaduwa, 30 minutes from the renowned turtle hatcheries in Habaraduwa, and 50 minutes from whale watching surfing beach at Mirissa. So there is plenty to see and do whilst being there.

Staying at the Aura Beach Villa was a sheer pleasure. The staff will serve you taking every care and precaution according to the latest safety and health guidelines to make this your home away from home.
In short… The Aura Beach Villa was indeed a relaxing intimate beach experience!
