India (Commonwealth Union)_ Actor and racing enthusiast Ajith Kumar continues to make headlines beyond the world of cinema, this time for his impressive performance at one of motorsport’s most prestigious events. Ajith recently competed in the Michelin Le Mans Cup held at the famous Circuit de la Sarthe in France, marking another major milestone in his racing journey. Adding to the excitement, his wife, former actress Shalini, and their children, Anoushka and Aadvik, were present in France to support him. A video shared from the event captured an emotional moment as Shalini cheered enthusiastically from the sidelines while Ajith’s race car sped past the spectators.

The family’s presence emphasised the personal value of the occasion for the actor, who has dedicated much of the past two years to pursuing his passion for motorsport. Ajith Kumar Racing also created history by becoming the first Indian team to participate at the iconic Le Mans, where it finished in the top 10, a feat that has earned widespread accolades from fans and motorsport followers. Shalini also shared family photographs from France, posting a heartfelt message that reflected the joy of the trip and the pride surrounding Ajith’s accomplishment.
Among those present at the event was filmmaker Vijay, who later described the experience as both memorable and historic. In a note shared after the race, Vijay thanked Ajith for inviting him to witness what he called a significant chapter in Indian motorsport. He said competing at Le Mans, one of the most demanding and respected races in the world, represents a challenge that every racer dreams of taking on. Vijay emphasized that Ajith’s participation carried importance far beyond personal success. According to him, the actor’s presence on such a prestigious international stage symbolized the aspirations of countless Indian motorsport enthusiasts. The team also delivered encouraging results during the race weekend. Car No. 36, driven by Kartik Narain and Aditya Patel, finished 13th in the Pro category. Meanwhile, Car No. 16, featuring Ajith Kumar and teammate Romain Woźniak, secured ninth place in the Pro-Am division. Vijay is currently directing Gladiators, a documentary focused on Ajith’s racing journey. The project is likely to bring to light the challenges, setbacks and achievements that have led to the actor’s rise in international motorsport.
