Canadians feeling strongly about the urgency to fight climate change

VANCOUVER (CU)_Since early last week, several provinces across Canada reported a surge in wildfires which ravaged homes and forced mass evacuations across cities. The situation was particularly critical in the province of British Columbia (BC), where there were 245 active wildfires as of Thursday (29 July), of which three dozens were considered either extremely threatening or highly visible. As a result, authorities issued 60 evacuation orders covering 3,443 properties. Currently, the North American nation is at national preparedness level 5, with BC and Ontario requiring full commitment of resources, while Saskatchewan and Manitoba are at level 4.
